When you are renting a property, it is difficult to customize different areas of your home and yard. In most cases, you cannot add anything permanent, so you need to come up with some creative alternatives. Luckily, you can find several ways to customize your rental home, but all of these changes are easy to remove when you move.
Temporary Kitchen Backsplash
The easiest change to make is going to be to your kitchen's backsplash. You can use different materials to change the look of your kitchen and all of them are removable.
Temporary wallpaper is a good choice when you want an easy yet decorative pattern, since you simply stick the product to the wall. Most of these wallpapers will release with a high concentration of water, which allows you to peel them off later.
Creating a tile backsplash is simple to do if you attach the tiles you like to a thin piece of plywood. With this option, you apply the tiles to the wood with grout and wait for it to set. Once the pieces are set, you can attach the board to the wall with a few nails or screws.
Extra Storage Options
Extra space for storing items throughout your home is another area you can change temporarily. For example, you can decorate a piece of pegboard with paint or stickers and then attach it to the wall. Once you have the pegboard up, you can insert metal hooks into the board and use it to hang pots and pans in your kitchen.
You can also use this same technique in other areas of your home. In your living room and bedroom for example, you can use the pegboard as a place to hang clothes or jackets. Once you get ready to move, you take down the board and fill in any holes with spackle.
When you have a dog, not having a fence can be a big concern. However, removable event fencing made from metal is a great option, because it is durable and heavy. Most dogs will have a hard time pushing it over to get out of the fenced area.
Typically, this type of fencing, available from Statewide Rent-A-Fence, comes in different sized panels that you connect with heavy-duty steel wire or metal connectors that the fencing company offers. You simply attach the panels to create the shape you prefer, while using a gate hook to secure your new dog area. When it is time to move, you disconnect the panels and take it with you to your new home.
Being a renter does not mean you cannot customize your property. You simply need to find alternative ways to get the items you prefer. With some time and planning, you will be able to make customized changes that you can later remove.Share

Before you decide on adding a pool to your backyard, you need to decide how you’re going to take care of the pool once it’s in. This is a very important part of the pool addition process, because you’re going to spend a lot more time on the upkeep of the pool than on the installation, and it’s important to have a plan in place. After years of pool ownership, I’ve learned a lot about how to take care of a pool, what you can do yourself, and what to leave to the pool professionals. I started this blog to help others learn what they need to know about pool care and maintenance. Take a deep breath and dive right in!
